SEPTEMBER PROGRAM—Digital Photography Techniques for Garden Photography - Frank Blau

Did you get a new digital camera for Christmas? Do you have a digital camera and only know how to “point and shot” and don’t have a clue to what the heck all those extra buttons are for? I’m a computer geek, but I’m in the same boat with you. I bought a 185 page manual for my camera and still have problems. Well, this program is for us!
Local photographer Frank Blau will give a brief introduction to the use of digital photography, with an emphasis on the lighting, equipment and techniques that apply to floral photography. This presentation will also include a question and answer portion where Frank will attempt to answer all of your questions about photography! If you have a camera, feel free to bring it and we can do some hands-on training!

At our regular meetings there are rhododendrons available for the door prize and for raffle and this month a couple of auction plants. There is be coffeeand tea along with whatever you bring along.

As always visitors are more than welcome - encouraged, even!

 

Who We Are

The aim of the Cascade Chapter, a chapter of the American Rhododendron Society, is to help the membership have a better understanding of growing rhododendrons. Members share their expertise and experiences in such areas as plant propagation, fertilization, pruning, and hybridization.

Membership not only affords a means to learn, but also a healthy and friendly environment to share, and enjoy the association of other garden lovers. Frequently, members show slides taken at various gardens, both near and far, that illustrate the beauty and diversity of the genus rhododendron. Members have opportunities to obtain plants via door prizes, raffles, and auctions.
